A couple of months ago, I found a lump on my guide dog. I took him to the vet, and they did some XRays. The vet said that she didnt' see anything that caused concern. All she saw was a fatty mass. Well, about two weeks ago, I found another one. I just got home from the vet's office. They took another XRay, and this time, she said that she saw that some of the bone has been eaten away. She told me that it could be arthritis, or cancer. Next week, she's going to do a biopsy to see which of the two it is. I'm worried sick. My stomach is in complete distress. I'm shaking so much, I can barely write this. It scares me to death to hear the word cancer. I'm so afraid. I dont' want to lose him. He's an amazing dog. Not only my dog, but my friend. I'm so very close to him. I just wanted to post this, to get some of my feelings out. I'll post more when I get more information. Thanks for taking the time out to read this.

Awe Leanne. I'm so sorry. I hope everything turns out okay. I don't use a guide dog, but I know how important they can become in a person's life. Keep us posted.

Hugs

Becky

Oh, poor puppy. If it is any consolation I can tell you that animals often cope better with cancer than do human beings. I don't know why that is, but it has been observed in many medical circles both those of human mediscin and those of vetrinary mediscin. If you like, and if you give me permission I can have a couple of friends of mine send him some Reki. It can only help, and I have personally seen it do a lot of good. I my self am a Reki level one practitioner.

LaMusiqueDuSoirTristeEtBelle,
Thank you for the offer. I, myself, am a level two practitioner of Reiki, and I've been using it, and hope that it will help. His vet appointment is on Wednesday, so hopefully, everything will go well. I didn't know the bit about animals seeming to cope better than humans, when it comes to cancer. That's very interesting. I'm just hoping with everything in me, that it's not cancer.

Hey, LeAnn! I can send Reiki his way if you like, too. Let us know how it goes. I don't have a guide dog, but as I'm writing this, my kitty is curled up beside me. I couldn't imagine my feelings if this were happening to Shadow. My thoughts are with you and him.

Thank you all for your kind words and support. Like I said in my first post, I take him back to the vet on Wednesday, so I'll be sure to post back here, and let everyone know what happens.

Great news! My puppys going to be okay! The vet called me yesterday, and said that when she made the incision, and was able to look past all the muscle and tissue, she saw that there was nothing to worry about. She didn't see any protrusion, tumor,or anything like that. she said that all she saw was a curvature of the rib. She said that a lot of dogs get it, because of how they lay on their sides. She said that the lump just appears bigger on the outside, because of all the muscle and tissue that covers it. She said that there was no discoloration, or anything abnormal about the bone, other than that it had the slight curvature. I'm so happy! He's going to be okay! It just worried me so much. I love this dog so much, and I don't want anything terrible to happen to him. I also want to say thanks to everyone who posted here. Thank you for all your kind words and thoughts.
